What’s Ahead

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things are new” 2 Corinthians 5:17

I am really looking forward to this coming year!!! A New Year has always been exciting to me for it signifies a new start and a new beginning. Does that mean all our problems will be gone? Of course not but it does give us hope. For even though all trials, problems and situations seem to be forever, the truth is that it is not, everything will end and all things will become new. As Christians we have hope for we know that when this life ends that we had one awaiting us with Jesus Christ and others that have gone on before. What is ahead for every believer is a New Beginning like no other, May this New Year be a great one!!!!!

Love an praying for you

The Stubborn Mule

“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18

A man’s mule wandered off his property. The man not knowing where he went started looking for the mule everywhere. Finally, he found his mule but noticed that he stumbled into a mud pit. The man thought to himself, “This will be easy all I need to do is to get a rope around his neck and than pull him out.” After putting the rope around the mule’s neck, the man began to pull but the mule would not budge. So he went to go get some of his friends to help and they all pulled but still the mule would not budge. The man tried to talk sweetly to the mule and than he tried shouting but it would not work for the mule was too stubborn to move. The mule would have rather stayed and wallow in the mud pit than to do the simple thing, and that would be just to walk out.

Just like this mule, we would rather wallow in our self-pity than learn to experience the joy that we could have in forgiving someone that has doing something to us. We would rather struggle with things that are going on in our life than asking for guidance and we would even choose to worry than trust God in His provisional care. Why do we do this? It is because we are stubborn, we want it our way and under our conditions. If only we could see that this kind of stubbornness will lead us in one direction and that will be to our destruction.

May we learn not to follow in the stubborn mules footsteps!!!

Love ya dearly

Refreshed and Revived

“He shall drink of the brook by the wayside; Therefore He shall lift up the head (he shall be refreshed).” Psalm 110:7 (explanation mine)

When I am thirsty, there is nothing more like a cool refreshing drink of water.  As I drink I feel a refreshing, a coolness throughout my body. As I finish my drink of water, my body feels revived and ready to go back at it again.

This is exactly how I feel when I spend time with the Lord. No matter how tough my day may have been or even if I had not even started out my day, I always walk away revived and refresh. The reason for this is because anyone who spends time in God’s presence can not help but feel strength and encouragement.

This morning, God wants to revive and refresh you will you allow Him to do so?

May God use you greatly today!!!

Praying for you

I’m Saved now what???

Been recently saved? You might be asking yourself, what is in store for me next where do I go from here. This blog is written to help you as begin your new life in Christ.

First one must follow the Lord in Baptism.  Why is Baptism important? Baptism is a picture of what Christ has done to you on the inside. By going under the water you picture being dead to sin and rising up out of the water you picture walking in newness of life. Baptism not only displays a picture of what Christ has done but also testifies that you have given your life over to Him completely.

Second get involved in Sunday School and church.  Sunday School and church is important for it helps teach you God’s Word and you are able to build relationships with other believers.  Also as one begins to faithfully attend, he/she will soon realize that he/she is not alone and others are going through similar problems.

Third make time for God in prayer and Bible reading everyday.  Fellowship with God is very important if one is to maintain living a life that is pleasing to God.  Through Bible reading God reveals to you the things that you need to know that will help you grow in your faith and through prayer one is able to ask God for help to apply those things in one’s life

Fourth find a season mentor. In growing in one’s faith, everybody needs somebody that they can trust and go too. These mentors are people who have been following the Lord for a long time and are able to help, guide and direct one who is starting out.  These mentors can be found in church, in Sunday School or even can be led to you by God.

And fifth–never give up and never quit.  Living a life for God is not easy and it will be tough at times because their might be changes that one must have to make. But know this, that though living a life for God is tough it is also rewarding.  He is always there and will never leave you. You have a friend that will never betray or leave you, that friend is the one who saved you—Jesus Christ.

Love and praying for you all everyday

Dealing with the hurt and pain of life

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Been hurt recently? Maybe it was by someone that you cared deeply for and put your trust in but in the end all they did was betray you. Ever feel like getting even? Making them hurt the way that you hurt!

While it is a desire in us to see someone hurting because of what they did to us, may we remember the words that Christ said, “Father Forgive them” (Luke 23:33-34) What amazes me the most is that while Christ was on the cross, and the people were hurling hurtful and insulting words, He chose forgiveness. He could have easily called for the earth to open up and swallow those who have caused Him pain but instead He chose to forgive them and give it to God.

When someone we love has hurt us the worst thing that we can do is get even. While revenge may give us that moment of pleasure, truth is it will only make the pain worse. The best attitude to have is that of Christ, forgive them and give it to God.

The pain of what they did may not go away but we do have assurance that the “strength of God” will help us see it through.

Praying for you always

Worship!!!

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.” Psalm 95:6-7

When you think about Worship, what comes to your mind? Is it a church that is filled with people and that has a huge choir loft with a music leader leading some songs. Is it some preacher getting behind the pulpit saying a few words from God’s Word or is it just something that Christians do at church? While worship does involve some of those things that are mentioned, that alone is not worship.

Worship actually means worthship. It is where we give all honor and glory to God. The reason is because worship is putting our complete focus on Him because He alone is worthy of our praise. Someone may ask, “What makes God worthy of our praise”? My answer to that would be “Look to Calvary, God allowed His Son to die on the cross for our sins, He allowed Him to take our place., that alone in my book is worthy of worship.”

Love and praying for you all

The Gospel That Never Changes

Christian life is not adding Jesus to one’s own way of life but renouncing that personal way of life for His and being willing to pay whatever cost that may require. —John MacArthur

We live in a world that is constantly changing and according to the Bible this will continue till the climatic return of Jesus Christ. This change that is taking place is not only happening in our world but also in our churches. Gone are the days where Hell is preached, let alone sin mention from the pulpit. While many of us do encourage people to accept Christ as their Savior, no longer do we say that one must be willing to turn from their sins. Instead we teach that one can have Christ as their Savior but still live the life that they want to live.   That my friend is not true, for one to truly accept Christ as his or her Savior that person must be willing to leave their old life and embrace the salvation that is offered by Christ.  Why should a person want to do this? 2 Corinthians 5:17 gives us the answer for it says, “….. if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”.

The church’s that preach one can accept Christ but still live the same life is in error and is preaching something that goes against God’s Word. Though that message may bring a bigger congregation, it only brings greater harm.  May we as Preachers, Pastors, and churches choose to stand and preach the full Word of God.   The world may continue to change but the Gospel/God’s Word never does.

1 “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:  2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” 2Timothy 4:1-5

May you all have a great week. Love you dearly

Hot In Texas

This summer has not even gotten off to a good start yet and we are already facing very hot and dry weather.  As hot as it is you would think that we were already in August.  Most of our state is going through a drought with fires happening around.   It looks as though it will be a long and hot summer.  But the good news is this, we know that our God is still in control.  No matter how hot it may get, no matter how long some of our cities and towns may go with out rain, He has it all in hands.  I am reminded of that scripture where Paul was battling with his thorn in the flesh.  Three times Paul asked God to remove it. In response the only thing God said was this, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”  (2 Corinthians 12:9)  These same words that gave Apostle Paul hope can give us hope.

With all that is happening in our world, in our state or even in our lives, we can rest assure that God is always there.  May we trust in His strength and grace to help us make it through those difficult and hot days.

Wishing you all a great week, love ya dearly

VBS was a success

Sorry that it took so long to update everyone, but our VBS was successful.  We had a total of 39 enrolled and averaged every night anywhere from 25 to 33 people.  Considering that this was our first VBS in three years I call this a success.  We had alot of hard workers who made this possible. Counting youth and our members that helped out we averaged around 32 total that helped.  Yes God was really good to us, and blessed us greatly.

What did we as a church learn from this?  If we would put all our effort in reaching out to others as we did in this VBS, God will grow our church.  May we be encouraged through this and fulfill what He is calling us to do.   God is not done with us yet!!!

Have a great weekend
